‘CLOTHES LINE AT NAN’S’ draws on a familiar piece of Australian iconography while capturing Aretha Brown’s memories of her Nan and her garden.
Filled with native animals, frogs, ponds and fairy gardens, it was a place of peace, magic and escape for Aretha. The clothesline becomes a symbol of this memory, an ordinary Australian object within a place that felt extraordinary and full of 'Lub'.
